Going Green

Who doesn’t like a good smoothie? A good fixing from Jamba Juice or a Naked smoothie from CityCo. often helps squash my sweet tooth. However, as with most things, nothing beats homemade. First things first: invest in a good blender. The love I have for my Vitamix blender is really not normal. I love it. Don’t judge me, it’s awesome. On a more serious note, when it comes to a blender, quality is important. A high-powered blender can blast through seeds and tough bits creating that perfect, creamy consistency. Weaker blenders often leave behind sediment and give a grittier texture. If you have a regular blender make sure to chop up the ingredients really finely to help it out.

The following collection of smoothies all have something in common (besides being delicious): they’re green. Now, this isn’t so much about sneaking veggies into your diet as it is about blending up sinfully sweet little treats. So just gather up the ingredients, throw them in your blender, and enjoy!

For all smoothies, prepare ingredients and blend until desired consistency.

  • 4 romaine leaves
  • 1 cup of ice cubes

A2 Smoothie
